Textile companies in Sabae City generate approximately 3,740 tons of textile waste each year, which has become a major issue.

In order to reduce the amount of waste and disposal costs of scrap materials, the Sabae City Textile Association and Sabae City, in collaboration with Fukui University, have developed a "Fiber Collage Kit using Sabae's Fiber Scraps" to foster children's creativity. They are using events and other opportunities to give everyone a chance to try it out.
